Alberta Winters

Alberta (Bertie) Sue Winters, 87, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at her residence.

Alberta  (Bertie) was born on April 17, 1930, in Bourbon to Earl A. and Myrtle E. (Hanson) LeClaire.  On Dec. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Garth Winters at St. Paul’s Church in Gerald.  She was a member of Ebenezer Stone Church in Gerald.  She was known by many and loved by all.  She was very proud of her children,  grandchildren and great-grandchildren and told all she met how many there were. She loved to cook and made meals for many.  She was famous for her cookies and the cookie jar was always on the table.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Myrtle LeClaire; husband, Garth Winters; brother, Elbert LeClaire; and sister-in-law, Doris LeClaire.

Her survivors include her children, Dennis Winters and wife Debbie, Dale Winters and wife Diane, Dean Winters and wife Rhonda, Debbie  Brune and  husband David all of New Haven; grandchildren, Devin Eads and husband James, Deanna Armfield and husband Donald, Douglas Brune and wife Brandi, Danielle Amann and husband Roger, Dione Kandlbinder and husband Samuel, Dana Bowden and husband Brian, Dane Brune and wife Jennifer, Ryan Winters, Denise King and husband Dustin, Dawn Brune, Nick Winters and Kate Winters; great-grandchildren, Drew, Darrin, Wesley, Karson, Lauren, Kalyssa, Caleb, Liam, Tate, Allen, Kamille, Cody, Josie, Ellie, Karrigan, Dawsyn and Millison; brother, Gerald LeClaire of Gerald; sister-in-law, Virginia LeClaire of Owensville, brother-in-law, Lowell Winters and wife Barbara of Labadie; and also by her extended family and loving friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 18  at Ebenezer Stone Church in Gerald with Rev. James Houge and Pastor Glenn Hollander officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
