Anthony Rynkiewicz

Anthony “Paul” Rynkiewicz, 60, Owensville, formerly of Newark, Del., died Friday, May 25, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 18, 1958, to Bernard Rynkiewicz and Agnes “Pinkie” Schultz Nickle, in Wilmington, Del.

As a young man Paul started working alongside his step-father at Brookside Exxon in Newark, Del. and continued working until the station closed in 1996. He also retired from General Motors in 2009, after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and playing baseball for the General Motors team and his AA team.

Paul is preceded in death by parents Bernard and Agnes; sister, Kim Miller; and father-in-law William “Bill” Jost.

He is survived by wife, Machelle L. (Jost) McGaha-Rynkiewicz, of the home; children, Jennifer Smith and husband Bobby of Clayton, Del., Melanie McGaha, Rock Hill, S.C., and Abigail Hunter and husband Ely, Owensville; grandchildren, Mikey and Olivia Buchanan, Delaney and Carter Smith and Evan Sanders; sister, Terri Clark, West Chester, Penn.; step-father, Joseph Nickle, Bear, Del.; mother-in-law, Ruth Jost, Owensville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Regina Jost, Owensville, and Scott Jost, Lewis, Del.; nieces and nephews, Courtney Clark, West Chester, Penn., Josh Miller, Georgetown, Del., Brittany Clark, Coatesville, Penn., Aahron Jost, Wilmington, Del.; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held (today) Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba, with Pastor Keith Neece, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba. 

In lieu of  flowers, memorial contributions suggested to the family to establish a trust fund for his daughter.
