Beaufort man arrested for attempted break-in on Flottmann Road

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton announced a warrant has been issued for a Beaufort man accused of breaking into a garage on Flottmann Road, Jan. 15.

Pelton reported that his office received a call on that date from a resident in the 1600 block of Flottmann. The man said he had been awakened on Jan. 4, around 4 a.m. by a noise in his attached garage. The homeowner saw a man leave his garage and get into a Dodge pickup truck and leave the residence.

The homeowner followed the vehicle until he realized he did not have his phone to call law enforcement. He was able to get a partial license plate number while following the vehicle.

The detective was able to identify a possible suspect using the truck description and partial plate.

Jacob T. Feth was arrested Jan. 15 on an unrelated offence. While incarcerated in the Franklin county Adult Detention Facility, he admitted to detectives that he entered the garage on the night of Jan. 4 with the intent to steal items.

A warrant was issued May 7, charging Feth with first degree burglary. His bond was set at $20,000.
