Belle business owner loses life in two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon

Alicia A. Wood, 53 of Belle, died Tuesday from injuries resulting from a two-vehicle accident on Highway 89, 1.2 miles north of  Highway 28 at 1:09 p.m. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol’s crash report, Wood was driving a 2014 Ford Focus south when she crossed the center line, striking a 2016 Isuzu box truck driven by Joseph Diaz, 33 of St. Louis. Wood was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:13 p.m. by Osage County Coroner Louis Jaegers. The truck overturned in the crash. This is Troop F’s fourth fatality for November and 52nd for 2017. Wood shared a ‘Strong Mind’s’ video on her Facebook page on Monday titled ‘On the day I die…a lot will happen.’ Friends of Wood have been commenting on the video and leaving condolences. Wood owned Tips N Toes, a nail salon south of Belle.
