Bernadine Caroline Nellie Meyer, 85, New Haven, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at New Haven Care Center.

She was born Aug. 16, 1932, to Emil and Alma C. (Vogt) Toelke, in Gerald.

She was united in marriage to Chester W. Meyer, Oct. 14, 1950, at Ebenezer Stone Church, Gerald.

 Bernadine was a member of Ebenezer Stone Church, where she was the organist for many years. She was a farm wife, working along side her husband on their family farm. She loved cooking and baking and enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and attending grandchildren’s activities.

She was preceded in death by parents, Emil and Alma; husband, Chester; and sister, Imogene Ella, who died in infancy.

She is survived by daughters, Connie Gerdes and husband Ray and Diane Gerdes, all of New Haven; Carol Meyer and husband Jim of Rosebud and Peggy Borcherding and husband Bob of Gerald; grandchildren, Eric Gerdes, Heidi Groner, Julie Westermeyer, Doug Gerdes, Craig Borcherding, Adam Gerdes, Collin Meyer, Luke Borcherding and Cody Meyer; and by 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 26, at Ebenezer Stone Church, Gerald, with Rev. James Hogue officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Stone Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to Ebenezer Stone Church, New Haven Care Center Activities Fund or Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth, Rosebud. Arrangements entrusted to Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
