Bryan Keith Vaughn of Cuba, was born on Saturday, Jan. 22, 1966 in Sullivan to Wilbur Jewell Vaughn and Imogene (Dugan) Vaughn. He passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at the age of 42 years and 7 months.
Bryan graduated from Central High School in Springfield, Mo. where he played football. He later moved to St. Louis and worked at Bi-State Transit for 20 years. he was a member of Algomated Transit Union Local #788. He owned several classic cars through the years, played the drums, was a songwriter and loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles.
His survivors include his parents; sisters, Julie Ann (David) Darmon of Ballwin and Charlene (Conrad) Percival of Rosebud; a brother, Roger (Margarete) Vaughn of Owensville; nephews, David (Andrea) Darmon, Jr. of Eureka, and Joseph Darmon of Ballwin; nieces Ginger (Kasey) O’Hara and Tina Vaughn, all of Fenton; great nephew Brayden Darmon; uncle Charles (Helen) Vaughn of Cuba; aunts, Carol (Stanley) Berry of Springfield, Mo. and Eileen Vaughn of California, Mo.; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba with Rev. Bob Knight officiating. Burial was at Roberts Cemetery, Salem.

Henry Arthur “Hank” Rasmussen, Jr., 78, of Rosebud died on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008 at St. John’s Mercy hospital in Creve Coeur.
Henry was born in Rosebud on April 9, 1930, the son of the late Henry P. and Emma (Meyer) Rasmussen.
On April 8, 1951 in Stony Hill, he was united in marriage to Joyce Traub. He was a member of the St. James United Church of Christ in Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Hempelmann, Ella Hempelmann and Helen Dierking and by his daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rasmussen.
His survivors include his wife, Joyce; four sons, Stanley Rasmussen of Owensville, Darryl Rasmussen and wife, Sydnee of Rosebud, Scott Rasmussen and wife, Linda of Rosebud and Ryan Rasmussen and wife Sara of Rosebud; by seven grandchildren, Bradley Rasmussen and wife Janelle, Gena Hiatt and husband Kevin, Amber, Zachary, Kayla, Bailey Rasmussen and David Mincemeyer; and by two great-grandchildren, Ahna Rasmussen and Tanner Meyer.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. James United Church of Christ in Charlotte with Pastor Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial was in the the St. James United Church of Christ church cemetery.

Earl F. Oberg, 83, of New Haven, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Earl was born in Stonyhill on Aug. 6, 1925 to the late Theodore and Lydia (Lichtenberg) Oberg. He married Mae Ann Locher on Dec. 17, 1955 at Swiss Evangelical Church. He was a lifetime member of St. James Church, Stonyhill. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and was a member of the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182. He was the owner/operator of the Stonyhill Meat Plant for over 20 years. After his retirement he worked as a janitor at R-2 School, Loutre Market and at Barnes IGA in Hermann.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Oberg and a sister, Viola Oberg.
Surviving him are his wife, Mae Ann of their home in New Haven; two children, Brenda McDonald and husband Daryl (Bud) of Eureka; and Pam Bunge and husband John of New Haven; and a brother, Gilbert Oberg and wife Pauline of Gray Summit.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. Private interment will be at St. James Cemetery, Stonyhill.
Memorials may be given to St. James Church or to St. James Cemetery, C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Homes.

Virgil W. Morris, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008 at Autumn Meadows Skilled Care Center in Linn.
Virgil was born March 14, 1917 in Owensville to the late James and Clara (Sassmann) Morris. He graduated from Owensville High School in 1935. On October 14, 1938, he married Velma Hoffmeier in Owensville. She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2001. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He owned and operated a lime and fertilizer business and SuperSweet Feed Store in Bland for many years. He also delivered vans and ambulances for Osage Vans. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
He enjoyed mowing his grass, attending auctions, traveling and spending time at Caspers drinking coffee. He was also an avid Playboy magazine collector.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Waldemar and Edgar and four sisters, Leoda Dunton, Mildred Burner, Winnie Willoughby and Melba Matlock.
His survivors include a daughter, Judi and husband Randy Atkin of Linn, Mo. and Charlotte, N.C. and one granddaughter, Dawn Pierce of Charlotte, N.C.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 23, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family.
