Patricia Ann Stokes, 73, of Owensville died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington.

Patricia was born in Owensville on March 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Lavergne and Lydia (Ridder) Baxter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Owensville.

Her survivors include her children, Steven Stokes and wife Benna and Candace Stokes both of DeSoto, and a grandson, Caleb Stokes.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15,  at 1 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor David Robertson officiating. Burial in the Owensville City Cemetery.

Larry Lagene Smith, 57, of Gerald died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at his residence.

Larry was born on Oct. 2, 1951 in St. Louis to Merdie and Cloyce (Henson) Smith. On Jan. 25, 1970 in Belleville, Ill. he was united in marriage to Lynne Galkowski. He was a member of the St. Louis Steelworkers Union Local #1540.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merdie Smith and his brother, Jay Smith.

His survivors include his wife, Lynne; his mother, Cloyce Smith-Bryant and husband Max of Fulton; his children, Terri Smith and Scott Smith and wife Amber both of Gerald; brothers, Warren Smith and wife Diane of Gerald, Daniel Smith and wife Debra of Poughkeepsie, Ark., Ray Smith of Batesville, Ark, Randy Smith and wife Heide of Washington State; sisters, Manita Simpson and husband Bud of Leslie, Mo., Pam Michell of Batesville, Ark., Shelly James and husband Randy of Warrenton, Mo., Sue Smith of Batesville, Ark., and Tina Pysz of Imperial, Mo.; and by three grandchildren, Amber, Zander and Dylan Smith.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15,  at 11 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rich Pierce officiating. Burial in the St. Paul Cemetery in Gerald.

Delmar Kline Shockley, 66, of Chamois died Sunday, Nov, 16, 2008 at his home. He was born June 10, 1942 in St. Aubert, a son of Archie Everett and Edna Viola (Lemmons) Shockley.

Delmar was a mechanic and truck driver, working for Leroy Bisges Trucking in Jefferson City, Woody Bogler Trucking in Rosebud, Linn Ford Tractor in Linn, and Garver Trucking in Owensville. He attended the Chamois Church of Christ.

He is survived by ten siblings: Wilbur Shockley ofOwensville, Melba Baclesse of Mexico, Lucille Sieg of Linn, Darlene Sieg of Chamois, Lola Davis of Holt, Lorene Wild of Bucklin, Forrest “Sonny” Shockley of Mexico; Diane Mitchem of Chamois; Sharon Laughlin of Linn, Jerry Shockley of Taos; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Milford “Cotton” Shockley and Larry Shockley.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Chamois Church of Christ with Rev. Don King officiating. Interment will follow in the Mint Hill–Shirley Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Wallace Ivan Stroisch, 83, died Nov. 4, 2008 at his home in Owensville.

Wallace was born April 4, 1925 in St. Louis to the late Walter and Irene (Villain) Stroisch. He served his country in the U.S. military during WWII. He was a truck driver and a member of Bay American Legion and Teamsters Local #600.

Among his survivors are a son, Jerry Stroisch and wife Vicky of Winchester, Ill.; a daughter, Terry Stanley and husband Bob of Gerald; a brother, Walter Stroisch and wife Kathleen of Owensville and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 6 at Gottenstroeter  Funeral Home with Father Jeremy Secrist officiating. Burial with full military honors was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Donald R. Tayloe, Jr. died Nov. 1, 2008 at Powers Medical Center in Lamar, Co. at the age of 50.

Don was born on Feb. 14, 1958 in Washington to Don and Myrtle (Harrington) Tayloe, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy K. Tayloe and a brother-in-law, Homer Roberts.

His survivors include his parents Don and Myrtle Tayloe of Lamar, Co.; a son, Kenneth Tayloe and wife Terri of Cozad, Neb.; siblings,  Cindy Roberts, Sandy Caddick and husband Phillip, and Cliff Tayloe and wife Rendi, all of Lamar, and Donna Holmquest and husband Dennis of Windon, Kan.; stepchildren, Carol Ridgeway of Nebraska, Jeremy Churchill and wife Melissa and Michael Churchill of Lamar as well as aunts and uncles, some from Owensville.
