Board awards $226,287.37 in bids for district projects

The Gasconade County R-2 Board of Education on Monday approved $226,287.37 to be spent on the following bids with a 6-0 vote.

• Swinger Sanitation was awarded the solid waste bid to specification worth $744 monthly for all four buildings, and separate pricing on an as-needed basis; 

• concrete for the ballfield complex was awarded to MDC Concrete not to exceed $18,197.40;

• ballfield bleacher bid was awarded to JW Industries not to exceed $24,205; and Daktraonics was awarded the bid for the ballfield scoreboard bids, $3,916 for the board, $5,490.10 for the material and labor;

• a bid for classroom cubbies at Gerald Elementary School was awarded to Spartan Showcase in the amount not to exceed $23,642;

• a tuckpointing bid was accepted from Patke Restoration in the amount not to exceed $80,550;

• a bus road bid for work at Owensville Elementary School was awarded to Carl Burns Asphalt Paving & Sealing, not to exceed $30,800;

• Clark Glaser Masonry was awarded the bid to build a family restroom at OHS at the Dutchmen Field stadium for $2,700; Advanced Plumbing was awarded a bid on the project for $8,417 and not to exceed $11,117; and,

•CI Select was awarded the cafeteria tables bid to specification for the perfect edge units in the amount not to exceed $17,252.87.

“These items were part of the consent agenda, so there was no discussion,” said Superintendent Dr. Chuck Garner at the May 20 meeting.

When asked if they board was happy with the bid results, Garner said the bids were what the board expected them to be.
