Burglaries in Beaufort, New Haven and Rosebud solved after traffic accident

Burglaries from Honold Hardware in Beaufort, T&T Hill Top Lounge in New Haven and Rosebud Tractor remained unsolved until a traffic accident provided information.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton says a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper responded to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 100 in the New Area on Friday, Nov. 16.

The driver, who was later identified as Justin Flesch, 36, fled the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival.

Inside the vehicle were several items believed to be stolen.

The following day a search warrant was issued. The items were confirmed to be those stolen from the local businesses.

Later that evening, the Washington Police Department received information on the whereabouts of Flesch inside their city limits.

A warrant was issued on Flesch, who claimed he was homeless, for two counts of stealing, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana,  and possession of burglary tools.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash only.
