Charles Moody

Charles “Ed” Moody, 52, Owensville, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1965, to Charles Richard and Edna Marlene (Blue) Moody, in Ellisville.

He was united in marriage to Christa (Bickmeyer) Moody, July 14, 1995, in Hermann.

Ed worked as a union carpenter in St. Louis for 22 years. He was later employed with the State of Missouri where he was a chief engineer over maintenance for 10 years. He was a former member of the Carpenters Union Local 3202 and Owensville Moose Lodge. He donated his time at the lodge doing BBQ benefits.

He enjoyed hunting, boating, helping his kids when they were young with Cub Scouts and Little League activities and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, Charles.

He is survived by mother, Edna, of New Haven; wife, Christa; children, Tim Crawford and wife Christina of Owensville, Ashley Steele and Robert “B.J.” Moody and wife Shelby of Owensville; siblings, Sandy Bockting and husband Mike and Rick Moody, all of New Haven, Tracy Scego and husband Dwayne of Washington and Scott Moody and wife LuAnn of Hermann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Cindy Bickmeyer of Hermann; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Stolpe. Memorials suggested to St. John’s Cemetery or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
