Daniel Herbert Kurrelmeyer, 67, Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his farm.

He was born May 25, 1951, to Herbert and Alvena (Brinkmann) Kurrelmeyer, in Washington .

He was united in marriage to Leona Kottwitz, Nov. 28, 1998, at his farm.

Daniel was a member of Zion St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay. He graduated with an associate’s degree in drafting from Linn Technical School. He worked for Schaeperkoetter’s Store for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Owensville Fire Department and was a founding member of Mt. Sterling Station 2 Fire Department. 

Daniel enjoyed spending time with his grand-kids and helping them with 4-H projects. He also enjoyed making woodworking projects for his family to enjoy. Since he retired, he loved spending time with Leona and taking care of his cows.

He was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Alvena.

He is survived by wife, Leona Kurrelmeyer, of the home; daughters, Brenda Buschmann of Mt. Sterling, Linda Williman and husband Allen of Big Springs and Rhonda Lewis and husband Eric of Big Springs; siblings, Marilyn Frisbee and husband Lyle of Cabool, Kelvin Kurrelmeyer and wife Kathy of Hermann and Janet Hall and husband Richard of Elk Creek; and grandchildren, Courtney Williman and Greg Pohlmann, Allison Williman, Kolten Williman, Chase Williman, Lance Lewis and Megan Lewis.

Funeral services will be (today) Wednesday, March 13, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jack Kurrelmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Woollam Methodist Cemetery in Woollam.
