Dorothy V. Davis, 99, Ozark, formerly of St. James and Vichy, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Cox South in Springfield.

She was born Jan. 31, 1920, to Thomas and Alda (Spurgeon) Branson, in Bland.

She was united in marriage to Floyd Anderson Davis, Oct. 20, 1946.

Dorothy received an accounting degree from Mounds City Business School in St. Louis. She worked in the accounting department at the Missouri Veterans Home until retirement. She was a longtime member of High Gate Baptist Church and later a member of St. James Baptist Church. She was active in the Vichy Volunteer Fire Department.

She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Alda; husband, Anderson; brothers, Victor and Vance Branson; and sister, Pauline Schirmann.

She is survived by sons, Bob Davis and wife Bobbie of Nixa and Steve Davis and wife Theresa of Linn Creek; brother, Gilbert Branson and wife Mary Jane of Owensville; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. with the funeral service following at 12 p.m., all at the St. James Chapel of James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Steven Brubaker officiating. Interment will be at High Gate Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to High Gate Cemetery.
