Douglas Brumit

Douglas Wayne Brumit, 62, Rosebud, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Creve Coeur Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born June 8, 1955, to Paul and Margaret (Easley) Brumit, in St. Louis.

Douglas proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as the McDonald’s Facility Manager in Owensville for 11 years. Formerly, he was a police officer in St. Louis County.

Douglas enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycle riding, antique shopping and gardening. He always had a friendly word for his friends and others.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by fiancé Terry Johnson of Rosebud; children Lisa Morse and husband Kenny of Imperial, Samantha Brumit of Apopka, Fla., Beverly Reno and husband Will of Deltona, Fla., Kayla Bray and husband Justin of Belle, and Brady Strubberg of Owensville; brothers Paul David Brumit and wife Gail of Jackson, Tenn., Greg Brumit of Illinios; sister Betty Jo Willis and husband William of Rosebud; and grandchildren Joe Fick, Madison Morse, Dakota Brumit, Brayden Brumit, Ty Brumit, Jeremiah Heckle and Blayne Reno.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating.

Burial will be at Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
