Edward Ray Douglas, 76, Gerald, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at his residence.

He was born May 27, 1942, to Raymond and Goldie (Sancegrow) Douglas, at Potosi.

He was united in marriage to Gerry Holtgrewe, Dec. 23, 1967, at Gerald Baptist Church.

Douglas enjoyed restoring tractors and working with guns.  He loved to play music, especially guitar.

He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Goldie; sister, Sheila Beesley; and great-grandson, Joseph Lee Limberg Jr.

He is survived by wife, Gerry, of the home; daughters, Sherrie Dukes and husband Larry of Rosebud, Theresa Ripka and husband Kevin of Gerald and Lisa Reid of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, George Douglas and wife Carolyn of Columbia; sisters, Luella Yagge, Carol Benton and husband Jim and Shirley Branscum, all of DeSoto;  grandchildren, Ashley Olson and husband Aaron of Albuquerque, N.M., Justin Limberg of LaPorte, Texas, Shaina Shockley of St. Charles, Joseph Limberg Sr. and wife Blanca of LaPorte, Texas, Alesha Shockley of Rosebud and Logan, Olivia and Sila Reed of Nashville, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 22 at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Gerald with Roger Johnson officiating.  Burial was in Douglas Family Cemetery at family farm at Gerald.
