Gasconade deputies investigate burglary, theft reports

Gasconade County Sheriff John Romanus reports deputies are investigating several burglary and theft reports taken since May 20.

On May 26, deputies took a report in the 1300 block of Dittman Road near Bland for a burglary and/or theft. The victim, 77, reported that sometime between May 25 and 26 that persons unknown had stolen a 2014 Honda UTV, along with a welder, tools, battery, and a grinder. The total loss is estimated at more than $7,000. The investigation continues, Romanus reports.

On May 20, deputies took a report of a burglary on June Drive near Canaan. The victim, 66, reported a Stihl chainsaw and a Johnson chainsaw, valued at $350 each, were stolen sometime between May 17 and 20. The investigation continues.

On May 25, deputies responded to the 3200 block of Peth Road for a reported theft. The victim, 56, reported that sometime between May 19 and 25 someone had entered a garage and stole gas, three gas cans, tools, alcohol, and soda. The investigation continues.

On May 21, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Highway Z near Hermann for a reported burglary.  The victim, 52, reported that a garage had been entered by person(s) unknown without his consent.

It does not appear that anything was taken from the garage but the investigation continues. 

On May 21, deputies responded to the 3800 block of Tall Oaks Drive near Bland for a reported forgery. The victim, 67, reported that a personal check had been altered without her consent. A suspect(s) has been identified and the investigation continues, according to Romanus.
