Gerald area man arrested for allegedly choking his father

On Dec. 19, Franklin County deputies responded to a domestic assault call north of Gerald.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 5900 block of Highway Y, they learned that a man had been choked by his son.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton reports the son, Brian K. Fischer, 46, of Gerald, was taken into custody.

An application for an arrest warrant was submitted to the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. A warrant was issued for second degree domestic assault with a $20,000 cash only bond. At a hearing Thursday the judge authorized a reduction to a $15,000 cash or surety bond.

As of Tuesday he was still in custody.
