Gerald man injured in three-car accident on U.S. Highway 50

Jon Bruyere, 25, of Gerald was moderately injured in an accident Thursday, Oct. 26, at 1:25 p.m. 

Bruyere was traveling westbound .8 miles west of St. Jordans Church Road when he crossed the center line in the 2005 Jaguar XJ8L he was driving. Bruyere then struck the side of a 2010 Chevrolet Impala that was traveling eastbound. Thomas W. Berryhill, 63, of Owensville was driving the Impala, but he was not injured. 

Bruyere’s vehicle then continued westbound striking the front of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze before traveling off the left side of the roadway and striking a fence. 

The Cruze was driven by Esther Nechita, 29, of Washington. She was airlifted to Mercy St. Louis with serious injuries.

Bruyere, who was not using a seat belt, was taken to Mercy Washington by Union Ambulance. 

Berryhill and Nechita were both using seat belts.

The Jaguar and the Cruze were both totalled in the accident. The Impala had moderate damage.
