Gerald man involved in three-vehicle accident east of Beaufort; one injured

Matthew L. Parker, 30, of Owensville was driving westbound on U. S. Highway 50 at 8:45 p.m. Monday, July 30.

A report filed by Tpr. J. M. Langley with Troop C of the Missouri State Highway Patrol states Parker crossed the center line of the roadway.  The 2009 Chevrolet Trail Blazer he was driving struck the left side of an oncoming 2018 Volvo VNL780, driven by David W. Lorenz, 58, of St. Louis. Lorenz then traveled off the right side of the roadway. Parker then struck the vehicle following Lorenz, a 1999 Ford F250 driven by Michael L. Olson, 48, of Gerald. Olson had begun to reduce his speed and began to slide when he was struck by Parker.

Parker was transported by Gerald EMS to Mercy Washington with serious injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. No one else was injured in the crash.
