Gerner charged with stalking

Michael Ryan Gerner, 27, Union, was arrested Monday, Jan. 29, and charged with first degree stalking.

Earlier that day, a woman reported that her husband, Gerner, violated a court order when he entered her home and removed property. While in the home, Gerner also made verbal contact with the woman, according to a report from Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton.

Deputies responded to the woman’s home in the 2900 block of Highway 100 in Villa Ridge. They learned there was a full order of protection restricting Gerner from communicating with the victim and entering her home.

Later that day, Gerner was located at a gas station in Villa Ridge. He admitted entering the home. He was arrested and a warrant application was filed with the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s  Office.

Bond was set at $7,500.
