On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, Jason Dennis Wisely, of Owensville, a loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 40 years at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

Jason was born on July 8, 1978, a son of Dennis Wisely and Kathryn Payne. 

On June 8, 2019, he was united in marriage to Kaylee Crabb and enjoyed raising their two children, Aidan and Anora.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cooking, music, and being outdoors. Jason served his country through the Air Force. After returning from his tour of duty, he pursued a career in culinary arts. He worked as a sous-chef at Sweet Caroline’s Steakhouse. Through his death, Jason was able to help others by donating his organs and tissues. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Jason attended Beulah Baptist Church in Belle.

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

His survivors include his wife, Kaylee; his children Aidan and Anora of the home; father, Dennis Wisely and significant other Kim of Bonne Terre; mother, Kathryn Payne of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Rachel Wisely-Olson of Bonne Terre and Lydia Payne of Tenn.; brothers, Terrell, Terrance, and Paul all of Tenn.; niece, Arian Olson of Bonne Terre; nephew, Justin Harmon of Bonne Terre; aunt and uncle, Phil and Karen Potratz of Nashville, Tenn.; cousins, Nathan Potraz and Nicole Chambers both of Nashville, Tenn.; in-laws, Bobby and Cary Crabb of Owensville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kelsey and Kris Havelka of Owensville; grandparents-in-law, Sam and Cheryl Finley of Potosi; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, June 23, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Funeral services followed visitation on Sunday, June 23 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Russell Hull officiating.

Burial was at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Owensville. Memorials may be given to family choice.
