Joseph Andrew “Joe” Smith, 51, Cuba, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017.

He was born Oct. 2, 1966, to John D. and Janet (Tayloe) Smith.

Joe was a Cuba High School graduate and obtained a degree in Quality Control from South East Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He worked at Georgia Pacific for almost a year before his health started to decline. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1991. Joe had been a resident of Cuba Manor since October of 2006. He was a longtime member of Trinity Chapel Presbyterian Church of Cuba.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents. 

He is survived by parents, John and Janet Smith of Cuba; and brothers, Jim Smith and wife Michelle and Jeff Smith and wife Barb, all of Owensville, and Jon Smith and wife Teresa of Walnut Grove.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastors Jeff Snell and Don Martin officiating.

Interment and prayers followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba.

Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba.
