Leo Shockley

Leo Thomas Shockley, 90, Owensville, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Victorian Place, Owensville.

He was born Jan. 18, 1928, to Donald and Pearl (Page) Shockley, in Otoe, Neb.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Lewis, Nov. 22, 1980, at Bland.

Leo worked as a millwright at Chrysler Manufacturing Plant at Fenton. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Leo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and belonged to VFW Post 6133.

He was preceded in death by parents, Donald and Pearl; and children, Gale Shockley and Judy Earnest.

He is survived by wife, Barbara of Owensville; son, Keith Shockley and wife Laura of Cuba; brothers, Donald Shockley and wife Bev of St. Louis and D.J. Shockley and wife Alice of Cuba; sister, Geneva Hendrix of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 29, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville with Pastor Lindsay Walters officiating.

Interment was in Howard Cemetery at Bland with full military honors.
