Lyman Cook Jr.

Lyman Dale Cook Jr., 94, Owensville, entered eternal glory with Jesus Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018.

He was born Jan. 5, 1924, to Lyman Dale Sr. and Lillian (Harmon) Cook, in Arkansas, Kan. 

He was united in marriage to Joyce Anne Staley, March 24, 1945, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Lyman was an elder at New Port Presbyterian Church in Washington for over 20 years and helped start Redeeming Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Owensville. 

Lyman served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a dentist by profession, and was a man of many talents and interests who excelled at whatever he put his mind to. He will be missed but we rejoice with him in his unending joy in heaven.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lyman Sr. and Lillian.

He is survived by children, Catherine Anne Huckins and husband James of Columbia, Lyman Dale Cook III and wife Karan of Republic, Patricia Anne Compton and husband Gary of Joplin and Nancy Anne Jensen and husband Rick of Owensville; sister, Jean Seymour of Ramsay, Mont.; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 2 from 10-11 a.m. at New Port Church in Washington. Services will follow with Pastor Tim Herrera officiating. Burial will be in New Port Church Cemetery.
