The Gerald Chamber of Commerce will host their Meet the Candidates forum next Wednesday, March 27, at the Depot in Legion Park. It begins at 6 p.m., following a short business meeting at 5:30 p.m.
The event serves to help voters educate themselves on candidates and issue prior to the April 2 Municipal Election.
This year, there will be no races on the ballot for board of directors for the Gasconade County R-2 School, the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District or the Gerald Ambulance District. In each case, only the incumbents filed for candidacy.
Those seeking city-wide seats, even if unopposed, have been invited to attend to present themselves to voters.
Those candidates and the positions for which they are running are:
Mayor—
Brad Landwehr 1216 S. Bernhardt Ave. and Hillary (Haase) Ward 141 E. Springfield Ave.
Aldermen Ward 1, two-year term—
Stephen M. Grgurich 294 E. Springfield Ave. and Angela Koepke 1118 S. Bernhardt Ave.
Alderman Ward 1, unexpired one-year term—
Ruth A. Haase 374 S. Bernhardt Ave.
Alderman Ward 2, two-year term—
Kent K. Richardson, Sr. 18 W. South St.
Those candidates who attend, will present information about themselves and answer questions from the public.
