MORIT, MOAC, Lions combine for cleanup

With permission for access to the Rock Island rail bed corridor through Owensville, about 40 volunteers spent several hours Thursday picking up debris from the property proposed as a walking and biking trail. The group was organized by the Owensville Lions Club, the Missouri Outdoor Activity Coalition(MOAC) and Missouri Rock Island Trail (MORIT). The group gathered afterward for a meal at Krooked Moon and viewed videos of sections of the trail already in development and aerial drone footage of the bridges over the Gasconade and Osage rivers. A similar work project is planned in Belle on June 2.
