OPD’s ‘Dunk-A-Cop’ raises more than $3,000 for school lunches

An Owensville  police department project to fund school lunches for students who qualify for reduced-price meals started the day Saturday with just over $1,100 in donations. “Dunk-A-Cop” at Walmart brought in additional donations bringing the total to just over $3,000, City Marshal Robert Rickerd told Owensville Aldermen on Monday. “That’s totally what I wasn’t expecting,” said Rickerd. “It turned out good. We raised a lot of money for school lunches.”  Nina Henderson of Linn dunks Lt. Scott Griffith as patrolmen Troy  Eberling and Brenn Finley look on. Henderson was in town helping her son who recently bought property in the area.
