Opening night ceremony for 72nd Gasconade County Fair is July 24

Adriene Aubuchon will crown her successor as Gasconade County Fair queen on the evening of Wednesday, July 24, when the 72nd annual celebration opens.

Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. with the presentation by the Gasconade County Fair Association of their Outstanding Community Service Awards. Dr. Cathy and Tom Lahmeyer are this year’s recipients.

Abigail Krueger, Michael Vedder, Sahara Huebner and Kaylee Abney are the recipients of the Fair Association’s scholarships for 2019 and will be recognized on the main stage located on Memorial Field.

Following the opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m., the Little Mr. and Miss Gasconade County pageant begins on the main stage. The queen contest follows the children’s pageant.

Contestants for 26th annual scholarship pageant include:

• Katie Creek, daughter of Lydia Gore of Rosebud and Jerry Creek of Sullivan. She is sponsored by 28th and Main Boutique and Salon.

• Sofia Drago, daughter of Gayla and Dan Drago of Bland.  She is sponsored by K & J Custom Lumber.

• Brook Eiler, daughter of Jennifer and Matt Eiler of Owensville.  She is sponsored by Office Concepts and Copies.

• Heather Hoffman, daughter of Matthew and Cassie Hoffman of Gerald. She is sponsored by Old Dutch Mill.

• Abigail Koepke, daughter of Jeff and Connie Koepke of Cuba.  She is sponsored by Old World Creations.

• Liana Miller, daughter of Mike and Pam Miller of Owensville.  She is sponsored by The Therapy Source.

• Megan Schneider, daughter of Jon and Cheryl Schneider of Hermann. She is sponsored by Sioux Nation Ag.

• Tara Schnelting, daughter of Terry and Rita Schnelting of Gerald.  She is sponsored by Citizens Bank.

• Brooke Titov, daughter of Jamie Titov and Eric Titov of Owensville.  She is sponsored by Dos Primos.

This year’s theme is “Summer Days and Country Ways.”  The fair runs July 24-27 at Owensville’s Memorial Park.
