Surrounded by her loving family, Paula Kathryn Swortfiguer, 81, returned to her heavenly home on June 7, 2019. She was the loving wife of Don Swortfiguer for 56 years. She is survived by her son, Andy (Karen) Swortfiguer and her daughter, Shana (Edward) Lifka.

Her adoring grandchildren Noah and Hannah Lifka, her loving cousin, Annette Albin, Carolyn and Bill Shulte, Mark Landweher, compassionate second mother and faithful friend to many. Paula was born to the late Reverend Telfair and Hilda Boesch (Sicht) in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Paula was immersed at a young age in various Christian communities that would be her lifelong support and shape her into the generous and faithful servant she was.

Paula attended Elmhurst and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education and completed a Master of Arts in Teaching with emphasis in gifted education at Webster University. She touched countless lives of students and staff throughout the 38 years in the Lindbergh School District.

Paula spent time with God, family and friends. She loved to scrapbook for others, read, write, sing, play the piano, teach, and vacation in all the states in the U.S. She helped with the homeschooling of her two grandchildren. Most of all she loved to show others how much she cared for them in her words and actions.

She humbly provided numerous random acts of kindness as she served the Lord throughout her life.
