Raymond “Ray” Charles Fryer, 86, Owensville, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at Owensville.

He was born Feb. 3, 1931, to Pierce and Elva (Meyer) Fryer, in Paci c.

He was united in marriage to Norma Albertson, Jan. 8, 1954, at Valley Park.

Ray was in the timber industry for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a life member of Owensville VFW Post 6133. He was also a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Owensville.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved gardening and buying and selling vehicles.

Ray was preceded in death by parents, Elva and Pierce; wife, Norma; brothers, Robert Fryer, Jesse Fryer and Pierce Fryer Jr.; sister, Helen Neider; and grandson, Dan Smith.

He is survived by sons, Raymond Fryer of Owensville and Steven and ancé Cheryl of Gerald; daughters, Ginger Smith and husband Gary of Gerald and Janice Specker and husband Thomas of Beaufort; brother, Eugene Fryer of St. Clair; sister Jayne Tyler of Ellisville; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, at Got- tenstroeter Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville with Brother Terry Caldwell of ciating. A VFW service will precede the funeral. Burial will be at Hendrix Cemetery in Stanton.
