RIP ‘Ick’, and thanks for the great fireworks displays

McCurry, 54, of Rosebud, died Dec. 28 at Barnes- Jewish Hospital in St. Louis following an lengthy illness. A cancer survivor, McCurry had been hospitalized since mid-November. McCurry was instrumental in staging the Rosebud community reworks celebration with assistance of friends to launch the display. Loaded with candy (below, right), a charge sends the treats ying high into the air to the delight of children attending the annual Fourth of July event held at Rosebud Community Park. McCurry served for 13 years on Senate Bill 40 Board of Director for Gasconade County. Susan Steinbeck, director of Gasconade County Special Services, said McCurry“always added insight into our discussions. He was a very kind man, with compassion for others. He will be greatly missed, both as a board member and a friend.” SB40 established a dedicated personal property and real estate tax to support special services and mental health programs.
