Robert Grover Schlottach Sr., 80, Owensville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

He was born Sept. 24, 1938, to Forrest and Lillie (Howell) Schlottach, in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Sue Holladay, May 16, 1959, at Valley Park.

Robert was a past member of Owensville Lions Club. He enjoyed bass fishing and boating on the lake. He also enjoyed Cardinal baseball games.

After 32 years of employment with Union Electric/Ameren UE as a Master Control Technician he retired in 1998 from the Labadie Plant.

He was preceded in death by parents, Forrest and Lillie; and sister-in-law, Charlene Schlottach.

He is survived by wife, Sue, of the home; children, Sheryl Harris and husband Rick of Bland, Robert Schlottach Jr. and wife Rhonda, Shawn Schlottach and Tony Shanks, all of Owensville, Ron Schlottach and wife Judy of Rosebud and Sheila Krause and husband Barry of Bland; brothers, Jim Schlottach and wife Brenda and Jack Schlottach, all of California, and Mark Schlottach and wife Karen of Maryland; sisters, Jean Smith and husband Bill and Sharon Reynolds and husband Jim, all of California; grandchildren, Rachel Schlottog and husband Kurt, Cory Harris and wife Trisha, Jill Power and husband Andy, Kevin Schlottach and fiancé Lindsey Dahler, Erica Herron and husband Jason, Brandon Peters and wife Nicole, Jenelle Schlottach, Garett Schlottach, Cody Krause and wife Breanna and Jacob and Sydni Krause; 12 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Miss Molly.

Visitation will be (today) Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel with Pastor Mark Farran officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s UCC Cemetery at Bem.
