Several area people injured in accidents last week

A Gerald woman was injured when she was rear-ended while waiting in traffic at 4:51 p.m. April 25. 

Nicholette E. Moss, 26, was in a 2009 Nissan Rogue on Highway 47 at Melinda Drive when the accident occurred. Ethan D. Kleekamp, 19, of Washington was driving a 2001 Honda Accord and skidded into the rear of her vehicle, according to report filed by Tpr. H. H. Hoemann with Troop C of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Both vehicles were southbound and both received minor damage. Moss was taken to Mercy Washington by Union ambulance with minor injuries. Both drivers were using seat belts.

On April 28, at 11:30 a.m. Tpr. K. L. Gibson reports an accident occurred on Route AT .1 mile west of Route M. Bryan K. Smith of Villa Ridge pulled the 2000 GMC Safari he was driving onto the shoulder of the roadway to pick up a passenger. He was inattentive when merging back onto the roadway and struck a 2018 Harley Davidson. The driver of the motorcycle, Robert F. James and the passenger, Terri D. Smith, both of Beaufort, suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Mercy Washington by Meramec EMS. 

The Safari received moderate damage while the Harley was totaled. All involved were using safety devices. On April 29, at 5:15 p.m., Dale F. Ulrich, 50, attempted to pass a vehicle while driving a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja on Highway 185 at Old State Road. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado he was attempting to pass was driven by Mary Ann Rosenkoetter, 72, who was making a left turn. The motorcycle struck the rear of her vehicle. Both parties are from Beaufort and were using safety devices. 

Ulrich was taken to Mercy Washington by Gerald ambulance with moderate injuries where he was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 5:48 p.m.

The motorcycle was totalled and the Silverado had minor damage according to report filed by Tpr. M. K. Halim.
