Yesterdays Cruisers car club held a benefit cruise in Sunday. The purpose of the event was to raise to money for Anne Marie Laubinger, who was fighting leukemia for the second time in her young life.

Unfortunately, Anne Marie died the week before the event, but the fund raising effort carried on with the club raising $14,400 for her family.

The club has been hosting these benefits since 2005, sometimes holding two per year. Before Sunday, the most money raised at an event was $12,000.

There is no admission charge for the cruise in. The club raises all the money through raffles, food sales, silent auctions, rummage sales and donations. It takes months of hard work to raise the money this club consistently does.

This year, the winner’s choice raffle was won by Olin
Weldnaber who chose the half of a hog. Kailey Kloeppel won $100 and Maribeth Schiemper took home the gun.

Eldo Meyer won the popular wagon of booze raffle and donated the wagon back to the club.

Judy Mosley won $247.50 in the 50/50 raffle.

The Ozark Cloggers were a new addition to this year’s benefit and kept the crowd in place during their show.

The club is always looking for new members. An appreciation of vintage vehicles and a willingness to serve the community are that is required. Call Sharon at 573-764-3902 for club information.
