Three utility poles snapped, transformer ‘relocated’

A Bevier, Mo., truck-driver delivering herbicide May 22 to a farmer’s warehouse on South Cuba Street said once he realized he had hooked a power line with his trailer, he was worried about electrocution and drove off as fast as he could to get away from the lines. He ended up ripping down three utility poles and a transformer crashed through the roof his trailer. Ameren linemen recovered it when he stopped on Maciejewski’s parking lot (right). Power was knocked out on South Cuba following the noon incident. Ameren linemen survey the scene (above) after realizing the transformer was missing.
