Vagrant horse found in Gerald

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has an active Facebook page with new posts showing up almost daily. On Thursday, Nov. 9, a post asked if anyone in the Gerald area was missing a horse. Evidently, one was discovered loitering near Angell Road, just south of the city limits.

The purpose of the post was to ask for help locating the owners of the wandering horse, which was reported to be in good hands for the short-term. It didn’t take long for people to identify the owners, who live on Borror Lane in Gerald. Apparently, when the owners left to attend a funeral, the horse took down a gate to go for a stroll through town.

The unidentified equine was picked up by the owners when they returned to town.
