Mother of Gerald reporter dies following brief illness

Irene Ketterer, mother of Republican Gerald reporter Linda Trest, passed away early Monday morning in her home after a brief illness.

Ketterer was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald. She was active in the women’s group and quilting circle.

She was also a past president of the Gerald Senior Center Corporation and the Gerald PTA.

Ketterer was also a past leader in 4-H, a volunteer at the Gerald Area Library and a member of the Franklin County Republican Women’s Club.

Funeral services will be conducted today, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m., at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald. The Rev. Bill Schwaub and Rev. Dale Starr officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s UCC in Gerald or to the Gerald Senior Center Corporation.

Due to this death, information from the latest meeting of Gerald’s Board of Aldermen will appear in next week’s Gasconade County Republican.
