Sheltered Industries of the Meramec Valley, Inc. (SIMV) received notification they are to receive funding for a facility health outreach program. A $50,000 two-year award begins December 1 and provides financial assistance, advocacy and transportation for the medical and dental outreach program for the facility. This is according to a SIMV press release. “The Health Interventions in Non-Traditional Settings (HINTS) funding will fill the void for disabled people that either have no coverage or can not afford high service visit co-pays and require assistance to receive services. Disabled people from Franklin, Gasconade, Crawford, and Washington counties will benefit from the multi-year grant” says Diana Halmick, Program Developer at SIMV.
Funding for this project was provided in part by the Missouri Foundation for Health. The Missouri Foundation for Health is a philanthropic organization whose vision is to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves.
