Helen Heidland, 92, of Owensville, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at her residence. Helen was born in Owensville on October 16, 1916, the daughter of the late Evert and Eva (Rehmert) Nicks. In 1936 she was united in marriage to Charles Fritsch; then in 1981 she married Ben Heidland. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville where she was a member St. Peter’s Quilters. She also enjoyed her time quilting at the Owensville Senior Center and her gardening. Preceding in death were her husbands Charles Fritsch and Ben Heidland; her sister, Ione Collier and brother, Les Nicks. Her survivors include her son, Bill Fritsch Sr. and wife Linda of Owensville; grandchildren, Bill Fritsch Jr. and wife Kristi of Owensville and Julia Toben and husband Joe of Washington; step grandchildren, Pamela Bohl and husband Keith of Jefferson City and Mark Lough of Owensville; four great-grandchildren, three step, great-grandchildren and one step, great, great-grandchild; and by a sister-in-law, Vera Nicks of Owensville. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Countryside Memorial Gardens. |
