While a local parent videotapes the action this cowboy tries to hang to a calf trying to buck him off while a rodeo clown makes sure he stays safe during the Gerald Rodeo held last weekend at Gerald City Park. Gerald resident BJ Yeager tries to rope a calf during the team roping competition Friday night in Gerald. Yeager currently attends school at Westminster Christian Academy in Ladue. Along with calf riding and team roping, other events contested in Gerald over the weekend include mutton busting, pee wee bull riding, pole racing, a calf scramble, bareback riding, barrel racing, ribbon roping, breakaway roping, chute doggin, goat tying, junior bull riding and open bull riding. Even though it was hot, it didn’t deter die hard rodeo fans from gathering in Gerald over the weekend.
