Volunteers from the Owensville Garden Club spent a morning last week working on the grounds of the Gasconade County Historical Society Museum. In what has become an annual project, the group raked, pulled weeds added mulch and performed other necessary spring tasks to beautify the museum for its 2008 season. Later that day, the group also donated a tree that was planted across town in Buschmann Park. Pictured above, from left, are volunteers Bonnie Lynn, Virginia Ray, Carol Moeller, Eileen Pohlmann and Nancy Fuller. The Garden Club will be back at the museum this Saturday when they hold their plant sale in conjunction with the Owensville Spring Fest. The plant sale will be held on the front lawn of the museum on West McFadden. Nancy Fuller, president of the Garden Club promises a huge variety of plants for sale at very reasonable prices. Most will be priced in the $1-3 range. The plant sale will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 2 p.m.—unless they sell all of their plants before then. They will offer mostly flowering plants with some herbs and other varieties of vegetation available. Over 30 members participate in a variety of activities in the Garden Club. If you are interested in joining, talk to any member during the plant sale.
