OHS 2000 graduate Shane Blankenship will tee it up at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., for the 41st PGA Professional National Championship from Thursday, June 19, through Sunday, June 22. All four rounds of the tournament will be televised on The Golf Channel. It can be found on channel 605 for DirecTV customers and on channel 401 for those with Dish Network. On June 19-20, the tournament will be televised from 5:30-7:30 p.m., central time and from 5:30-8 p.m., central time on Saturday and Sunday. Three rounds of the tournament will be played at Great Waters Course which was designed PGA legend Jack Nicklaus. The other round will be played at Reynolds Landing. Blankenship has been working as a golf pro in Scottsdale, Ariz., throughout the Summer and is now at Franklin County Country Club near Krakow preparing for his upcoming tournament in Georgia. “I’m really looking forward to playing in this tournament,” Blankenship said. “Marty Nobel will be my caddy in Georgia and I credit him for getting me into golf when i was younger,” Nobel is from Washington, Mo. If Blankenship finishes among the top 20 in the tournament, he will qualify for the 90th PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich., on Aug. 4-10.
