Thomas J. “Tom” Huot, 81, of Linn died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. Tom was born July 16, 1927 in Osage county to the late John Edward and Sophia (Matthews) Huot. On June 30, 1951, he was married to Luta Rae Schwegler in Mt. Sterling. He had been employed at A. P. Green in Mexico, Mo. and was co-owner of Huot Brothers Trucking in Linn from which he retired in June 2007 after 60 years of working with his brother, Robert. He also worked with the former Osage Van’s hauling conversion vans. Tom was a lifelong resident of the Linn community. He was a member of the community of Christ Church in Linn, a charter member of Osage County Trail Riders and served on the board of directors for the Zion-St. Paul Cemetery in Bay. Tom was a hunter many years ago, hunting in Wyoming and the Dakota’s with his good friend, Harold Nolte. Three siblings also preceded him in death, Howard and Robert Huot and Juanita Helmig. Surviving him are his wife Luta Rae of Linn; a son, Garry of Linn; three sisters, Opal Matthews of Chamois, Imogene Thompson and husband Alfred of Linn, Pat Asher and husband Harold of Jefferson City; two aunts, Nadine Cooke of Jefferson City and Dorothy Cook of Holts Summit and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 25 at Morton Chapel in Linn. Interment was in the Community of Christ Church Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to Zion-St. Paul Cemetery fund. |
