Helen Templeton of rural Gerald entered a pin of her own design in the Silver Dollar City annual pin convention. The convention was held this year on August 16.

Templeton’s prize incuded a certificate for display and also a gift certificate. New pin designs are solicited each year and must be submitteed by December 30. Templeton can be seen in photograph at left wearing the pin that she designed and holding her honorable mention certificate.  The pin features a red-white-and blue American flag background. A small green tractor moves across the flag.  “God bless our farmers” is painted across the top of the pin. Templeton and her husband, Bob, make their home south of Gerald on Timber Lane.
