Vivia Detert

Vivia Lou Vossbrink Wuertz Detert, 83, Leslie, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 7, 1934, to Theodore Henry and Flossie Ethel (Dulany) Vossbrink, in Washington.

She was united in marriage to Charles W. Detert, Sept. 26, 1985, at New Friendship Baptist Church, Gerald.

Vivia was a member of Antioch Christian Church in Leslie and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.  She owned  and operated Log Cabin Pottery outside of Rosebud until 2004.

She was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Flossie; husband, Charles; and a brother in infancy.

 She is survived by children, Kimberlee Wuertz and Matthew Wuertz of Leslie and Theodore Wuertz of Leslie and fiancé Cherie Warren of Union; and grandchildren, Matthew T., Chloe, Tate and Fiona Wuertz.

Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 2, at Antioch Christian Church in Leslie with Pastor David Atzenweiler officiating.

Interment was in St. Paul’s Cemetery of Gerald.

Arrangements entrusted to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
