The first day of school for this next school year is scheduled to be August 14. We feel this is entirely too early to start school. For one thing the middle of August is about the hottest time of year. People still have summer plans, vacations, etc.

I have watched on the news and read numerous articles on the subject of gun safety and control. I am amazed at the lack of simple logic that prevails. I was a good enough show with a .22 rifle to hunt squirrels at the age of 10 and after 70 years I still love the sport.
