Members of the Gasconade County Commission, county Road and Bridge Department personnel, engineers with Great Rivers Engineering and neighboring landowners gathered Thursday to mark the opening of the new bridge on Brick Church Road north of Owensville off of Route P.

The project was completed with financial assistance of a state reimbursement fund designated for rural crossings. An Eagle was on hand and flying overhead to mark the occasion. The project began last fall. The new concrete bridge replaces a low-water slab crossing near where Third Creek and Cedar Branch come together.
