Deputies, Hermann police, and agents from the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group executed a search warrant at 1113 Market Street. in Hermann. Four adults and three children were inside the residence. One of the adults, later identified as Chad Rulo, 24, led investigators to the basement where Fentanyl patches, a bottle of liquid methadone, syringes and other narcotic paraphernalia were located.
Rulo did not have prescriptions for any of the medication, noted the sheriff’s department. He was taken into custody and transported to Crawford County Jail. As a result of this investigation Circuit Judge John Berkemeyer issued, the issue warrants against Rulo alleging the attempted sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance (methadone), a Class C felony.
Bond was set at $35,000 and Rulo remained jailed through the weekend.
No charges were sought against any of the other individuals living, or visiting, the residence at the time of the execution of the search warrant.
“This case was the result of information gathered from public tips and law enforcement investigation,” noted said Sheriff Randy Esphorst in a press release. “As I have said numerous times, ‘just point us in right direction and law enforcement will take it from there.’ Working together,we can make a difference to help ‘stamp out’ illegal drug activity in the Hermann and Gasconade County area.”
