Bill Schmidt
Bill was born, Feb. 22, 1954, in Washington to Nelson and Delores (Brandt) Schmidt. On Jan. 20, 1973, he was united in marriage to Peggy Stockton in Rosebud.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Schmidt; stepfather, Oscar Holtgrewe; father-in-law, Joseph A. Stockton and sister-in-law, Trecy Helmig.
His survivors include his wife, Peggy; mother, Delores Holtgrewe of Rosebud; mother-in-law, Edna Stockton of Gerald; children, Michelle Henson and husband Anthony of Owensville, Bill O. Schmidt Jr. and wife Betty, Christina Lindemeyer and husband David and Barb Loyd and husband Bryan all of Gerald; brothers and sisters, Gene Schmidt of Rosebud, June Huff and husband Jim of Canaan, Jody Schmidt of Owensville, Glenn Holtgrewe and wife Janice of Hermann, Tammy Lauer and husband Dan of Rhineland; 11 grandchildren and numerous other family members.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 5 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Gerald with Rev.Bill Hafley and Rev. Mary Avizenis officiating. Burial was in the Beemont Zion UMC Cemetery in Beemont.
