Dale E. Schoen of Warrenton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1943, to the late Armon Schoen and Leona Thiedke in Washington. Dale had reached the age of 80 years.
Dale proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1964–68. He was united in marriage to Virginia Ann Skornia in 1965 and was happily married for more than 58 years. This union was blessed with one son, Matt. Dale loved to work with computers, which is what he did for most of his career. He also enjoyed playing poker on his computer and his phone. Dale loved to collect old western movies and his collection was huge. He would spend endless hours watching his favorite actor, John Wayne. He also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes of various types. Dale especially loved to barbecue for his family. His family meant the world to him.
Dale was preceded in death by father, Armon Schoen; mother, Leona and adoptive father, Walter Thiedke.
Dale is survived by loving wife, Virginia; son, Matt (Kim); and grandchild, Matthew Dale; and other relatives and family friends.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life visitation Thursday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. also at Martin Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
