Farm Bureau donates grain bin rescue apparatus

Gasconade County Farm Bureau members on June 11 presented Owensville Fire Department with some much needed grain bin rescue equipment.

Early this spring, firefighters from Owensville along with firefighters around the area attended a Grain Bin Engulfment rescue class. At that time, Gasconade County Farm Bureau pledged to provide the Owensville volunteer firemen with the equipment needed to perform a rescue.

“A huge thank you to Gasconade County Farm Bureau,” said Owensville Chief Jeff Arnold. “This equipment will be beneficial to our community as well as surrounding communities.”

The volunteers host the Owensville Firemen’s Picnic Friday, June 28, at Memorial Park with fireworks at dark and food sales and activities beginning at 5 p.m.
